I like the narrators new change. He has become more aggressive, spittin' on pastors and what not! He says he is not going to be a activist or fight for this racial equality. But i think he will, because the person he is living with Mary, wants him too. Even though Mary is trying to pressure him, she does not make it an issue because Mary still accepts the narrator. She is still giving him a place to stay and some food to eat. He does not have that shame he was carrying when he was brain washed. When the waiter thought he wanted pork chop he order toast instead to fight a stereotype. But on the streets he's eating yams and chitterlings, authentic stereotype african american food and he could care less! When he sees the black family being thrown out of their house instead of accepting it, he puts their things back and PREACHES! He sees the black family as his family, not just some random people. So the urge to help them arise black heritage pride. This creates a riot around him and inside him, "a spot of black anger”.
